In the Tibetan tradition skulls are used to signify a life of compassion. Their imagery symbolizes that we do not know if tomorrow is guaranteed – and so it is important to live the best we can every day of our lives. Great for use during meditation, this mala has 108 brass skull beads – 108 being a number of great spiritual significance in numerous cultures.
- Brass skull meditation mala, 108 beads
- Each mala weighs about 6 oz
- Beads are about 7 mm each
- Recommended for meditation only (not as a jewelry item)
- Handmade in Nepal
Crafted in Nepal. Each mala is individually created and minor organic variation in appearance adds to artistic character. Color of cord/knot may vary. The mala is made of brass (brass and zinc alloy). Wearing it as jewelry may turn the wearer’s skin green. This is not due to a defective item; it means the body is dissolving the copper faster than it can be absorbed. In Ayurvedic tradition this is a sign of physical, emotional or mental stress. Paying attention to when this occurs can help one be more in tune with their personal health.
