Meaning & Intention

The Medicine Buddha, known in Sanskrit as Bhaisajyaguru, is revered in Buddhist tradition as the great healer — a figure said to address not only physical illness but the deeper afflictions of fear, anger, and confusion.

The cherry plum branch in his right hand represents the medicine of the natural world. The bowl of elixir in his left holds the wisdom that turns it into genuine relief. Together, the two gestures form one complete teaching.

The mosaic robe, pieced from small fragments of tile, mirrors a core lesson: wholeness is often built from many small, deliberate parts. The cobalt and turquoise tones are long linked in Himalayan art to clarity and open sky.

Placed in a home, the statue is traditionally kept as a healing ally — a point of return toward patience, care, and steady practice.

Questions & Guidance

Where is the best place to keep this statue?

Traditionally it is set on an altar, nightstand, or dedicated wellness corner — anywhere the eye returns often. Placing it near eye level when seated supports its use as a meditation focus.

Is it a thoughtful gift for someone unwell or caregiving?

Yes. The Medicine Buddha is associated with recovery and care, which makes the statue a gentle offering for someone healing from illness, or for a caregiver holding space for another.

Do I need to follow Buddhism to keep one at home?

No. Many people keep the figure simply as a focal point for healing intentions or as a still center within a meditation practice, regardless of tradition.

Too big

The boxes were much bigger than I thought they would be and seemed to be lacking in the quality I'm used to seeing in your products. I have returned both boxes via UPS and am awaiting my refund.

Understated design, well made

I wanted a simple reminder to take a moment to breathe throughout the day. This ring tells me to do just that. It's solid stainless steel, so it's durable. The embossing (engraving?) is clear and consistent from one letter to the next.
