Round ceramic table lamp with a bulbous base, entirely hand-etched with small triangles and finished in warm brown tones. A high-grade paper shade sits above, letting the etched pattern remain the focus. Set it beside a favorite chair or in a meditation corner for grounded ambient light.

Details

Design: Rounded bulbous ceramic base rising into a slender neck, its entire surface hand-etched edge to edge in triangles, topped with a high-grade paper shade
Size: Stands 20 inches tall to the top of the shade. Base diameter and shade dimensions not specified
Material: High-quality ceramic base with a high-grade paper shade
Care: Dust the ceramic base with a soft, dry cloth. Keep the paper shade away from moisture and direct sunlight
Note: Because each lamp is shaped, etched, and finished by hand, expect natural variations in color, surface pattern, and appearance from piece to piece
Origin: Handmade by artisans in San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua, under fairtrade practices

Meaning & Intention

San Juan de Oriente is a small Nicaraguan village where pottery has been the town's identity for generations. The artisans here descend from the Chorotega people and still work clay by hand using methods that predate the potter's wheel.

The triangle is one of the oldest marks in ceramic tradition. Repeated in rows, it reads as mountains, as rays of light, or simply as rhythm made visible.

Etched by hand rather than stamped, no two triangles fall exactly the same. The surface holds a handmade energy instead of manufactured uniformity — the maker's hand brought into your space.

Switched on at dusk, the base glows through the paper shade and settles a corner of the room into a place you actually want to sit.

Essence & Elements

Intention: Warmth, grounding, connection to craft

Chakra connection: Root, for its earthy tones and grounded, weighted form

Ideal for: A reading nook, meditation corner, or living space where you want handmade artistry alongside warm ambient light

Suggested mantra: I welcome warmth into my space

Questions & Guidance

Is this lamp fairtrade?

Yes. It is made under fairtrade practices, supporting the artisans in San Juan de Oriente who shape and etch each piece entirely by hand.

What kind of surfaces does it suit?

It works as a table lamp on a bedside table, console, side table, or writing desk. The paper shade softens the glow into warm ambient light rather than task light.

Too big

The boxes were much bigger than I thought they would be and seemed to be lacking in the quality I'm used to seeing in your products. I have returned both boxes via UPS and am awaiting my refund.

Understated design, well made

I wanted a simple reminder to take a moment to breathe throughout the day. This ring tells me to do just that. It's solid stainless steel, so it's durable. The embossing (engraving?) is clear and consistent from one letter to the next.
