Buddha Groove’s traditional sandalwood mala adds a soothing sensory element to your practice with its uplifting scent. Sandalwood is considered sacred in Ayurvedic text and is has been used in various ceremonies to calm the mind. Be still as you slowly move through the mala’s 108 beads. An additional guru bead indicates when you’ve completed one round of counting. Beads are 8 mm. Handmade by artisans in Nepal.

I have returned the males because they were advertised as "fragrant
sandalwood mala". The smell of sandalwood is unmistakable, but the
males you sent me smelled will cheap perfume. What I am in the market
for is a sandalwood mama made of sandalwood and smells like sandalwood.

Pretty, but...

This mala is offered as “Fragrant Sandalwood” but it has very little if any scent to it. The wood beads have a nice feel to them and they are very attractive with the natural variations in color. However, it is very stiff, difficult to wrap as shown in photo. It would not work as a bracelet, and the beads do not have room to slide on the string, which, as I mentioned is stiff. As a simple necklace, it is pretty, but not as a mala or bracelet.

We wanted to circle back regarding your concern about the mala tension and a share a couple of quick tricks with the mala.
The black knotted area below the Guru bead is adjustable. You can pull the entire knotted section down (the two hangings threads will get shorter), and it will create more space between beads.

Also. since mala you received is new, with use the tension in the cord reduces and the mala becomes more flexible as well (even without the adjustment). To expedite the process, please hold the mala in your palm with multiple wraps and gently press. This will loosen the thread a bit as well.
